Marshfield improved to 3-0 on the 2016 prep volleyball season with a 3-1 win at home Wednesday against Coos Co. rival Coquille. The Lady Pirates won the opener 25-18, but lost the second 21-25, before pulling off two close wins to beat the Red Devils 25-21 & 25-22. Sophomore Alex Locati recorded 10 kills, while Kelsey Jackson & Kenadi Rhoades each had 8. Senior Shay Jensen had 30 assists. Coquille won the JV match 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-21). The Lady Pirates host Cottage Grove Thursday, with the JV match at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity match.
