Marshfield’s Jazmin Chavez finished 14th overall at the Marist Catholic Invitational cross country meet Saturday in Eugene.  The Pirates senior toured the 5K course in 20:04.1  Fiona Max, a junior from Summit in Bend, won in 18:09.6.  Her team, the Storm, took the top three places as well as 6th, 7th, 8th &13th in winning the meet with 19-points.  Marist Catholic was second with 97.  Marshfield was eighth with 194-points.  Also placing for the Pirates were:  37 Kaylee Delzotti 22:-3.0; 47 Emily Kruse 22:48.0; 70 Jordan Baarstad 24:53.5; 77 Sydney Trendell 25:49.9; 78 Kensey Harlow 26:19.9; 79 Kaylin Dea 26:21.1; 81 Bailey Wallack 26:39.8; 85 Rayne Quinones 28:24.9; 87 Daisy Thompson 29:32.6.  In the boy’s race, Marshfield was sixth.  Sheldon won with 46, followed by Summit with 63, Ashland 67, Marist Catholic 99, Mtn. View 179 and the Pirates with 182.  Individually, Chandler Pruett led Marshfield with a 13th place finish (17:29.9).  Evan Holland of Ashland won in 15:30.3.  Also for MHS:  32 Jonathon Sampier 18:08.3; 42 Kyran Erwin 18:34.1; 51 Gabe Delgado 18:45.9; 57 Jeremy Roe 18:57.6; 61 Benedict Gerdes 19:19.9; 63 Robert Kliewer 19:22.9; 68 Colton West 19:45.6; 80 Aaron Prince 20:14.9.  The Pirates are next scheduled to run in the Prefontaine Memorial on Saturday, Sept. 15 in Coos Bay.
