Some of the Bay Area’s prep baseball players played for Newport’s AAA Mid-Coast Dungies in this Summer’s American Legion season. The Dungies, named after the Central Coast’s port for Dungeness Crabs, finished the season 5-15 after sweeping Dallas 10-9 & 13-12. The team was made up of players from Newport, Taft, Waldport, Seaside, Marshfield & North Bend. The Mid-Valley Southpaws (Albany) won the AAA Area 3 championship (15-5). From Marshfield Landon Croff, Joe Herbert, and Drake Rogers. North Bend’s Luke Wheeling was also on the roster.
