A 23-year old Southern Oregon University student, and Coos Bay native, Rachel Rose Sheldon was crowned Miss Coos Co. Saturday night at the Hales Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay. Seventeen year old Sammie Huffman, Coquille, was crowned Miss Coos Co. Outstanding Teen. Kallie Greene was honored as Miss Coos County’s Outstanding Princess following a random drawing of the contestants, ages 6-10, who escorted the Miss Coos Co. contestants on stage and performed their own dance routine. Both Sheldon and Huffman will represent the county at the Miss Oregon Pageant June 26-29 at Seaside.
