The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for an airplane that went down near the mouth of the Columbia River Wednesday. Pilot John McKibbin was helping a woman spread her husband’s ashes when the wreck occurred about three-quarters of a mile north of the Rogue Ales Public House in Astoria. Authorities searched the area for more than 12-hours over two-days. The plane was a two-seater antique North American AT-6 aircraft.
