On December 06, 2016 at 11:57 am the Coos County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a call regarding a deceased subject that had been located on the beach south of Bandon, Oregon. The area was described as the most southern beach access point on Beach Loop, this area is known as China Creek. The Sheriff’s Office assisted by the Bandon Police Department responded to the location. At the location the body of an unidentifiable deceased male was located. The partially decomposed body had been exposed to the elements for an extended period of time. At this time it is suspected by investigators that the subject may be Stephen C. Navarro, 48 years of age of Coos Bay. Mr. Navarro is the missing boater from the canoe accident that occurred in Coos Bay on 11-15-16. Confirmation of the identity is pending DNA and dental comparison. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Coos County Medical examiner.
