The bodies of two missing campers were recovered Sunday, Aug. 24, in a remote area off of Hwy. 6, within the Tillamook State Forest on the North Oregon Coast, after they were reported missing five-days earlier. Thirty-five year old Justin Norton and 53-year old Nicholas Santangelo were camping within the Diamond Mill OVH area. They were reported missing from the campsite Tuesday morning, August 19th. Their wrecked 1998 Ford Explorer was found Saturday night in heavy brush and trees several hundred feet down a steep hillside, off of a narrow gravel road. The two were ejected as the SUV rolled several times. Due to the location, recovery wasn’t possible until the next day with the assistance of a High Angle Rope Team.
