News release CCSO. On 06-20-17 at about 0641 hours, Monte Callaway, who lives on Ruby Loop in Bandon, Oregon called the Coos County Sheriff’s Office to report his sister, Crystal Martin, 59 years old of Powers had walked away from his residence sometime in the night between 0110 hours and 0430 hours. Crystal, who is an adult woman, was reported to deputies to be headed to the Powers area. The deputy sheriff issued what is known as a Check Welfare teletype to all law enforcement agencies in Coos County. This alerted local law enforcement to inquire into the well being of Crystal Martin if they had contact with her. During the ensuing 24 hours no law enforcement contact was made with Ms. Martin. At about 4:59 pm on June 20, family members called the Sheriff’s Office again. The indications were Crystal Martin had some physical as well as mental problems that led deputies to upgrade her status to missing endangered due to those medical problems. Crystal Martin was then entered into the nationwide computer as missing. On 06-21-17 Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies along with members of the Coos County Search and Rescue responded to the area. Deputies and Search and Rescue K9s searched the surrounding area on foot and by air but did not locate Crystal Martin. Again, Crystal Martin is entered as a Missing and Endangered person and if anyone has information on her whereabouts please call the Coos County Sheriff’s Office at 541-396-7830. This investigation is still ongoing.
