CBPD news release. Missing Person alert: Willard Dean Canfield, Date Last Seen: 12/17/2017, Age: 56, Sex: Male, Race: Caucasian, Height: 5’ 11”, Weight: 162 lbs., Eyes: Blue, Hair: Lt Brown. CIRCUMSTANCES: The Coos Bay Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating Willard Dean Canfield. Mr. Canfield was last seen on 12/17/17 at Fast Mart in Coos Bay. Mr. Canfield is homeless and known to frequent Fast Mart, McKays Freshmart, Mingus Park, the Coos Bay Boardwalk, and the Coos Bay Library. Mr. Canfield is known to camp in the wooded trails West of Johnson Ave, in the general vicinity of some water tanks owned and operated by the Coos Bay North Bend Water Board. When Mr. Canfield last spoke with employees at Fast Mart, he complained that he wasn’t feeling well. Mr. Canfield’s camp site was checked, however he was not located. This information is being disseminated to assist the Coos Bay Police Department in contacting Mr. Canfield in order to assess his welfare. The case is not considered suspicious in nature at this time.
