News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office.  On 05/29/2014 at about 1959 hours, Thursday evening, Coos County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a resident on Christopher Lane, just north east of Bandon, advising that her husband, 78 year old Ted Rogers, an Alzheimer’s patient, was missing from their home.  It was reported that Mr. Rogers was last seen at about 3:30 pm, Thursday in the home on Christopher Road.  Mr. Rogers is described as 78 years of age, in good health, very mobile.  He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 185 pounds, brown hair with gray sides, brown eyes, mustache and glasses.  He is known to be wearing blue jeans and boots and may have been wearing a flannel shirt or just a t-shirt.  He was also wearing a dark colored baseball cap with a fish on it.  Sheriff’s Deputies and Bandon Police Officers searched the road ways around Bandon all evening and through the night.  Mr. Rogers is very mobile and has before walked all the way down into Bandon and out to Bullards Beach from his home.  At 0700 hours this morning, Friday, 05/30/2014 Sheriff’s Deputies and Search and Rescue members began searching again, but at this hour, 11:00 am, 05/30/2014 have still not located Mr. Rogers.  His picture is attached below.  Police are asking for the public assistance, and ask if anyone has seen this person or know his whereabouts to please contact the Coos County Sheriff’s Office at 541-396-2106.
