The Pacific Ocean seafloor within the Blanco Fracture Zone off the South Oregon Coast continued to shake Monday, June 1. Three quakes were recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey during the early morning hours. The largest was a 5.8-magnitude earthquake located about 280-miles west to northwest of Coos Bay. Another two followed the first three basically in the same area with the largest measured at 5.9-magnitude, 1:11 p.m., 291-miles west to northwest of the Bay Area, while the other was a 4.4-magnitude at 7:46 a.m., 290-miles also west to northwest. The rumblings continued into the evening with two more quakes recorded. The first was measured at 3.9-magnitude (7:50 p.m.), followed by a 4.2-magnitude (8:11 p.m.) basically in the same area.
