Motorcycle Fatality Hwy. 20, Aug. 1

On July 28, 2017 at about 5PM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a passenger vehicle versus a motorcycle on Highway 20 near milepost 93 (west of Sisters). Preliminary information revealed a 2015 Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Highway 20 when it drifted across the centerline and into the path of an eastbound Kawasaki motorcycle. The two vehicles collided, ejecting the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist, a 30 year old Hillsboro resident, died enroute to the hospital. The driver of the Nissan, Walter BONILLA, age 20, of Los Angeles, and his 2 passengers received minor injuries. Fatigue is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash. The name of the motorcyclist will be released until the next of kin has been notified. Highway 20 was reduced to one lane for four hours.
