On September 3, 2019 at approximately 5:19 P.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to a motorcycle crash on Hwy 260 near mile post 20. Preliminary investigation reveals that a Heritage Softail Classic Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by John Yanutik III (51) of Merlin, OR, was traveling west on Hwy 260 when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the roadway. Yanutik was transported to Three Rivers Hospital where he was evaluated and subsequently transported to the ICU at Rogue Regional Medical Center. On September 5, 2019 at approximately 11:30 A.M. Yanutik was pronounced deceased.
