On August 21, 2018 at approximately 2:18 am, Oregon State Police Troopers from the Grants Pass Area Command and emergency personnel were dispatched to a crash involving a motorcycle on Hwy 260, near MP 10.5. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Suzuki Motorcycle, operated by Donald P. Hoak (36) of Grants Pass, was traveling north on Hwy 260. The motorcycle struck a deer, which was in the northbound lane, causing Hoak to lose control of the motorcycle. Hoak was pronounced deceased at the scene.
