A 54-year old Allegany resident is scheduled to be arraigned this morning in a Coos Co. Circuit Court Room at the Courthouse in Coquille on charges of Murder by Abuse and Manslaughter in the First Degree. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier alleges in the indictment of Vana Gaye Boren “that between January 1, 2014 and March 9, 2014, that Vana Boren recklessly and under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life, caused the death of Willa Faye Boren, a dependent person, by neglect and maltreatment. This incident is alleged to have occurred at the family residence located at 66170 Church Road in the Allegany area.” The 87-year old Willa Faye Boren is the mother of Vana Gaye Boren. Boren was arrested without incident on Thursday, Oct. 16 and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille. Her arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
