A 23-year old Brookings male has been charged with Murder following an altercation early Saturday morning, June 17, at a residence on Winchuck River Rd. According to reports, Jon Bourelle was located on the porch of the residence following a call to 911 reporting suspicious conditions. He reported had cuts on his face when authorities arrived to investigate. Bourelle led officers to the residence of 59-year old James Bourelle, who was found deceased. The Curry County Major Crime Team was activated. Bourelle was taken at first to Curry Medical Center in Brookings for his injuries and later arrested on charges of Murder First Degree, Murder Second Degree and Manslaughter First Degree. He was booked into the Curry Co. Jail at Gold Beach.
