Law enforcement’s annual National Night Out event is set for Tuesday, August 2, with two event locations in the Bay Area. The original location at Ferry Road Park in North Bend will be accompanied by a similar event at Eastside Park in Coos Bay. The Ferry Road Park event begins at 5 p.m. and the Eastside at 6 p.m. Eastside is billed as a potluck; however, the Coach House has volunteered to provide hot dogs and hamburgers. Participants will also enjoy free games, live entertainment, ice cream, cake walk and more. National Night Out is an awareness campaign highlighting: Crime Prevention; Generate support in local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and, send a strong message to criminals letting them know that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
