Traffic is moving slower in the downtown core area of North Bend after the City Council voted to reduce the speed limit from 30 mph to 20 mph for increased pedestrian safety. Motorists are limited to 35 mph coming off the McCullough Bridge southbound through the city. The speed reduces to 30 mph off the bridge, then to 20 mph from Connecticut to the end of the downtown area. The speed then increases to 35 mph for a short distance on Tremont Ave. (Hwy. 101), then to 45 mph headed to Coos Bay.
