North Bend’s boys fell 76-47 at home Saturday night to Cascade in a 4A basketball “Play-In” game. With the win, the Cougars advance to the OSAA 4A First Round and will play at Valley Catholic Saturday in Beaverton. The Bulldogs were the Far West League’s No. 2 team. No. 3 Brookings-Harbor lost 53-39 at Sutherlin to end the Bruins season. As FWL champions, Marshfield had a bye and will now host Baker Saturday, March 3. The Cowapa League has three teams (Seaside, Banks, Valley Catholic) still alive in the next round of the playoffs, while the Oregon West Conference has four teams (Newport, Philomath, Stayton, Cascade).
