North Bend’s basketball teams were swept by Valley Catholic in Beaverton Saturday night. The Bulldog girls fell 64-41, while the boys were topped by a 75-39 score. North Bend hosts Phoenix in a couple of non-leagues games tonight. The Lady Bulldogs (2-2) play at 6 p.m. and the boys (2-2) at 7:30 p.m.

Marshfield boys lost a third game to a defending league champion Monday night in Coos Bay when Harrisburg held the host Pirates (1-3) to 13 second half-points en route to a 59-43 preseason win in the Pirate Palace. The Eagles, fresh off winning the 3A state football championship, outscored Marshfield 30-13 in the second-half to improve to 4-1. The Pirates next play Thursday night, 8:30 p.m., in the Les Schwab Tires South Coast Holiday Basketball Tournament against Crook Co.
