North Bend improved to 2-0 on the young 2016-17 prep basketball season, while Marshfield dropped its second straight in non-league games played Tuesday night out of town. The Bulldogs won at Junction City 63-44, while the Pirates fell at Cottage Grove 69-57. Both are back in action Friday night with North Bend at Newport and Marshfield home to Elmira. Marshfield’s girls improved to 3-0 with a 39-34 win at Cottage Grove. North Bend evened its record at 1-1 with a 58-46 win at Junction City. On Friday, Marshfield hosts Elmira and North Bend is at Newport.
