NBHS Band State Champs, Again!
The North Bend High School Band, under the direction of Amber Yester, won its fourth straight 4A Band Division at the OSAA State Championships Wednesday at Oregon State University’s LaSells Stewart Center in Corvallis. The Bulldogs were followed by Philomath, Douglas, Scappoose and La Grande.
NBHS Boys Tennis Champs
The North Bend High School boys’ tennis team won the 4A/3A/2A/1A-SD3 Special District 3 Championship Wednesday in Medford. All of the Bulldog players reportedly contributed points to help capture the title. Qualifying for the state tournament in Corvallis May 19 & 20 were: No. 1 Singles Jacob Gage, and Doubles teams of No. 3 Graham Lyons & Lucas Parvin, and No. 4 Daniel Bennett and River Morse. Marshfield’s sophomores Max Nicolaus & Josh Nicolaus were the No. 1 qualifiers from the district.
Far West District Track
North Bend and Marshfield are the two teams favored entering the 2017 4A Far West League District Track & Field Championships on Frank Shriver Track at Vic Adams Stadium in North Bend Friday and Saturday. Field events and running will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday. On Saturday, field events begin at 11 a.m. and running events at noon.
