North Bend won its “Play-In” softball game against visiting Astoria 10-0 (5) Thursday at the Oak Street Park Fields, but Marshfield lost to visiting Hidden Valley 7-2 at Coos Head Field in Coos Bay.  The Bulldogs advanced to the First Round of the OSAA playoffs. The Pirates end the season with a 15-10 record.

Both Marshfield and North Bend open the 2017 OSAA State Track & Field Championships at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene today.  Finals will be held on Saturday.

The OSAA State Tennis Championships take place Friday and Saturday at Oregon State University in Corvallis.  North Bend’s Jacob Gage is in the Single’s bracket, and the Nicolaus brothers from Marshfield are in the Doubles’ along with the Bulldogs team of Bennett & Morse.
