North Bend and Marshfield remain unbeaten in the 4A Far West League football race following games last Friday night. The defending league champion Bulldogs won at South Umpqua 38-28 in Tri City. It took two overtimes, but Marshfield finally prevailed over Siuslaw 27-21 in Florence. Senior Matt McAllister with a 24-yard run to clinch the win on a wet soggy night on the Central Oregon Coast. Brookings-Harbor beat visiting Douglas 27-12. With two weeks remaining in the regular season, Brookings-Harbor (1-2, 2-4) visits North Bend (3-0, 4-2), South Umpqua (1-2, 2-4) is at Marshfield (3-0, 5-1) and Douglas (0-3, 1-4) goes to Siuslaw (1-2, 4-2) this Friday, Oct. 16.

Prep XC
Both North Bend and Marshfield’s cross country teams ran at the George Fox XC Classic Saturday in Newberg. The Bulldog girls were 13th out of 14 teams in the Varsity Gold race. Camas, WA and Summit of Bend won the division. Bandon’s Sailor Hutton was fourth overall (18:09.0).
