North Bend’s Cade Smith took second in the 110 High Hurdles at the Wally Ciochetti Invitational Track Meet at Cottage Grove Saturday. The junior was time in 16.01, just behind Scappoose sophomore Brisyn Maller’s 15.90. Teron Catanzaro placed fifth in the race in 16.63. The Bulldog 4X100 relay team (Divenson Willis, Jake Posey, Martin Godinez, Jonathan Chilcote) placed fourth in 44.47. Crook Co. won in 43.62, followed by Scappoose 43.63, and Mazama 44.20. North Bend sophomore Orion Osborn won the Javelin (165-04). Senior Giovanni Byers was second in the High Jump (6-00). Junior Teron Catanzaro was second in the Long Jump (20-10.25). And, Catanzaro placed fourth in the Triple Jump (41-01). Sophomore Chelsea Howard had a busy day for the girl’s team. She placed third in the 100 (12.99), second in the Long Jump (17-00), and second in the Triple Jump (34-08.50). Junior Haley Edwards was fouth in the 100 Hurdles (17.07). Senior Kalista Ross took the Pole Vault (10-00). Crook Co. won the boy’s team race with 94-points, North Bend was fifth with 58. Philomath won the girl’s team race with 107.5, North Bend was third with 69.5. Seventeen teams competed.
