NBPD Recognitions, March 11

News release from the City of North Bend – Detective Sergeant Buddy Young officially retired on February 28th after four decades on the North Bend Police force. He will continue on the force as a Reserve Officer. Congratulations! Young has seen a lot of change since he joined the North Bend Police Department at 25. His career started on April 1, 1978. Mayor Jessica Engelke and the North Bend City Council recognized him during Tuesday night’s Council meeting, where Police chief Gary McCullough and Captain Cal Mitts presented him a plaque and shadow box showcasing his career with the department. Congratulations to North Bend Police Officer Jake Hult on his promotion to Patrol Sergeant. February 12th, 2022, marked the 25th anniversary of Officer Brent Gaither. Officer Gaither is currently assigned to the Patrol Division at the Department, where he and his team are first responders to the needs of the citizens. Over Officer Gaither’s 25 year career, he was assigned to the Investigations Division, Training Division as a Field Training Officer, Patrol Officer, and Shift Supervisor. Congratulations and Thank You, Officer Gaither, on 25 years of dedicated service to the Citizens of North Bend and the North Bend Police Department.
