NBPD report, March 2

Criminal Trespass
NBPD release – On 03/01/2020 at 2:45 PM, North Bend Police Dispatch received a report of a Female Victim in distress asking the Reporting Party to call the police for her. The Reporting Party advised Dispatch the Vitim had a Male Suspect inside of her residence in the 1900 block of Broadway Avenue. The Reporting Party said the Victim told her the Suspect was armed with a “gun” and “nun chucks” and was “freaking her out”. Police Officers arrived in the area and made contact with the Reporting Party. After a short time, the Officers on scene were able to make phone contact with the Victim. The Victim was able to get out of the residence and met with the Officers. The Victim said the Suspect had just showed up to her house the night before and refused to leave. The Victim said she did not know who the Suspect was and could not provide his name. The Victim said she knew the Suspect had at least one “hunting rifle” on the front porch and possible had more inside. The Victim said the suspect also had nun chucks in his back pocket. The Victim told the Officers that no other persons were in the residence besides the Suspect. Officers had observed the Suspect exit the house onto the front porch multiple times but waited for the Suspect to create distance between the porch and the reported weapon. Officers were able to take the Suspect into custody without incident. The suspect did have nun chucks sticking out of his back pocket when he was arrested. The reported hunted rifle was located on the front porch and was discovered to be a BB gun rifle. The Suspect was later identified as John McCafee DOB:10/05/1963. McCafee was transported to and logged in the Coos County Jail on charges of Criminal Trespass 1. The Investigation is continuing.
