John Ward is the new Sheriff of Curry Co. Ward, who previously served as a Lieutenant in the department, replaces John Bishop, who announced his retirement in July. Ward was appointed to fill out the remainder of Bishop’s term in office by the three-member county Board of Commissioners during their meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Gold Beach.
