Newport Female Charged with Sexual Abuse of a Child, Feb. 25

A 37-year old Newport female is being held on $2 million bail after she was named in a 59-count secret indictment returned Feb. 15, 2022. According to reports, Catherine Lynne Marie Cantrell is charged with 29 Class B felony counts of first-degree Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse & 28-counts of second-degree Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse, a Class C Felony. The indictment also includes charges of two Class C Felony Counts of Sexual Assault of an Animal. She is being held in the Lincoln Co. Jail at Newport.
