Some Bay Area runners took on the 26.2 mile challenge of the 17th annual Newport Marathon on the Central Oregon Coast Saturday morning. More than 1,200 signed up for either the walk, half-marathon, or full run which serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The overall winner was Mike Rosling of Corvallis (2:40:56). Coos Bay runners: Amarissa Wooden (3:54.06), Michelle Collicott (3:54:14) and Greg Uskoski (5:09:10). North Bend runners: Melissa Evans (4:00:56), Caryn Mickelson (4:10:34), and Carrie Pigage (4:45:09).
