The male accused of killing four people in North Bend in June has been returned to Oregon from Wisconsin and will appear in a Coos Co. courtroom Friday afternoon, Aug. 6, in Coquille. According to a news release from Coos County District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, “The extradition warrants issued by the Governor of Oregon and the Governor of Wisconsin were served upon Oen Evan Nicholson on July 23, 2021. Mr. Nicholson made a court appearance in Wisconsin on July 26, 2021 and at that time he indicated that he no longer wished to contest extradition back to Oregon. Accordingly the court in Wisconsin ordered that Mr. Nicholson be returned to Oregon no later than August 9, 2021. Officers from Coos County law enforcement traveled to Wisconsin and returned Mr. Nicholson to Coos County” on Thursday, Aug. 5. The 30-year old is lodged in the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille. He is scheduled to appear before Judge Martin Stone at 1 p.m. Nicholson is accused of killing his father, a husband and wife, and a clerk in a marijuana dispensary before fleeing the South Coast and kidnapping a woman in Springfield forcing her to drive across country to Wisconsin where he eventually surrendered.
