ODOT release – LINCOLN CITY- Construction crews shift from daytime to nighttime work on the Lincoln City U.S. 101 D-River bridge deck the week of February 4. Construction hours will be Monday through Thursday evenings, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for three months. One lane will be closed and traffic flagged through the work zone. There will be no daytime lane restrictions. Evening work will end for the season by Memorial Day and resume after Labor Day. Nearby businesses will be accessible at all times, with “Business Access” signs near entrances. Crews are working on strengthening the bridge, adding steel and titanium rods. Expect some noise from drilling and cutting. Construction noise will increase in the spring as bridge rails are removed and replaced. Coastal bridges are being protected and improved. From 2018 to 2021, the D-River and Schooner Creek Bridges will receive: Repairs to damaged concrete; Installation of a zinc coating or zinc blocks to protect the bridges from the harsh coastal climate; Replacement of bridge railings to meet current crash standards; Strengthening of the bridge structures with steel and titanium. Work on Schooner Creek Bridge, in south Lincoln City, will begin in early summer 2019. It is expected to last 21 months. Work may occur day and night. When work does occur at night, lanes will be closed, with traffic flagged through the work zone.
