The only port along the Oregon Coast to annually host cruise ships is off the tour circuit for the second straight year. The Coronavirus is again at the heart of decision by the cruise lines. The move means 29-passenger ships scheduled for 2021 did not and will not dock. Twenty-one canceled earlier in the year, and the final eight recently pulled out. Last year 38 were scheduled to dock and allow passengers to disembark, peruse vendors as well as the sites. Each ship brings an economic boost to the Clatsop Co. community, and the industry overall helps the Port’s dredging and operational costs through user fees.
