No Evidence of Foul Play in Inmate’s Death, Dec. 11

“There is no evidence of any foul play in the death of Mr. Putman.”  That’s how a news release from Coos Co. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier ends regarding the investigation into the jail cell death November 15, 2017 of 62-year old Jimmie Rodgers Putman, who was serving 50-days for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Failure to Appear in the Second Degree.  Frasier stated, “It has been determined that Mr. Punman died of natural causes.”  He reported was suffering from congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), type II diabetes and high blood pressure.  “It was determined an autopsy was not needed.”
