The wildfire that broke out Tuesday off North Bank Lane, north of Coquille, quickly spread from an initial 10-acres to more than 300 according to officials with the Coos Forest Protective Association. One building was reportedly destroyed by the fire and some evacuations took place with others placed on notice. No one has been injured. Officials speculate that a downed power line may have started the fire. Smoke from the fire settled into the Bay Area; however, by afternoon the winds changed and the smoke lifted.
