City of North Bend release – Tuesday, the City of North Bend was awarded a $56,000 technical assistance grant from the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development to conduct an Economic Opportunities Analysis (EOA). Economic growth is a bit like the weather – while we never know what will happen for sure, knowing the forecast helps us plan for the most likely situation. An Economic Opportunity Analysis is like an economic forecast and will equip North Bend with information to help prepare for growth over time. The EOA will help our city understand which industries and services will thrive in our area and how we can best use land within our urban growth boundary. The city will provide $19,000 in in-kind services toward the matching grant.
