The JC Penney store located in the Pony Village Mall at North Bend is not on the list of stores to be closed by the national company this year. The struggling retailer announced it will close 33 stores this year to save an estimated $65 million, but will result in 2,000 job losses. Only one store in California will be closed among the company’s stores in the West.
