NBHS Cheer Garage Sale
North Bend High School’s Competition Cheer Team will hold a garage sale Saturday, Dec. 14th from 8am to 1pm in the NBMS cafeteria.

Newport broke away from a 32-32 tie entering the fourth period Thursday night and handed visiting Marshfield a 54-42 non-league boys’ basketball loss.  Eight Pirates scored, led by Cody Dean’s 12, Justin Cooper 10, Rylee Trendell 5, Hunter Olson 4, Austin Howerton 3, Juan Caballero 3, Kasey Banks 3 and Andrew Sharp 2.  Marshfield won the preliminary games.  Frosh-Soph 46-33, and JV 54-40.  The Pirates (1-1) next host Grants Pass in the Pirate’s home opener Tuesday against Grants Pass.

Marshfield’s girls play Eagle Point today, 2 p.m., in an opening game at the Grants Pass basketball tournament.  North Bend’s frosh boys, JV boys & girls, and varsity teams play at Newport on Friday beginning at 4 p.m.  Marshfield 8th Grade Gold and Sunset Blue will host Coquille, North Bend and Powers at MHS Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.  Marshfield 8th Grade Purple and Millicoma Green takes on Myrtle Point, Siuslaw Middle and Gold Beach at Riley Creek Elementary in Gold Beach, 10 a.m.  Marshfield’s JV girls team plays at Myrtle Point at 4:30 p.m.

Marshfield opens the 2013-14 prep swimming season by hosting Grants Pass Friday, 3 p.m., Mingus Park Pool in Coos Bay.  The Pirates will then participate in an invitational at the North Bend Pool on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.

Army Strong Coast Classic Wrestling Tournament
The 28th annual Army Strong Coast Classic Wrestling Tournament will be held at North Bend High School December 13 and 14 in the high school gym.  This year’s tournament will feature 31 of the finest high school teams in Oregon, with over 800 wrestlers participating.  The Army Strong Coast Classic is recognized as one of the best tournaments in the state with only the Oregon Classic Tournament being a bigger event.  We hope everyone can attend this year’s Army Strong Coast Classic Tournament.  The North Bend Booster Club, along with many community volunteers, donate their time and energy to make this event possible.  Concessions will be available on Friday morning, afternoon and evening and will re-open early on Saturday morning to include breakfast items. It will remain open throughout the day with numerous items for lunch, including nachos, hamburgers, hotdogs and pizza.  Adult admission is $14.00 for a tournament pass or $8.00 per session.  Student admission is $10.00 for a tournament pass or $6.00 per session.  Tournament begins at 1:00pm on Friday and at 9:00am on Saturday.
