NBHS Cheer Fundraiser
The NBHS Competition Cheer Team is having a Can and Bottle Drive this Saturday, Feb. 8, from 10:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. at the Pony Village Mall Main Entrance. Please come support the girls and drop off your cans and bottles.
NBHS Dog Bowl
Fun was had by all in the first North Bend High School Dog Bowl at North Bend Lanes Wednesday, Feb. 5. The Bowling team came in first with 1279 pins, the Wrestling team was 2nd with 892 pins, the Swim team had 777 pins, and taking home the trophy was the Football team with a total of 753 pins. Football Coach Gary Prince said they would be back next year to defend their trophy against all challengers.
Crook to Utah
On National Letter of Intent Day, Wednesday, Feb. 5, Marshfield’s Shaylen Crook signed with Utah. The Pirate senior won the state 4A cross country title last fall and is also a distance runner on the Marshfield track team.

Marshfield’s swim team competed in a multi-team invitational at Southern Oregon University in Ashland on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The Pirate girls won the seven team meet with 81 points, followed by Henley with 60, Phoenix with 51, Ashland with 49, South Medford with 44, Cascade Christian with 18 and Mazama with 3. Phoenix won the boy’s meet with 107 points, followed by Ashland with 81, Marshfield with 50, South Medford with 36, Henley with 34, Cascade Christian with 12 and Mazama with 6. Spencer Fromm won two events to lead the boys. Shaylyn Brownell won one event for the girls, but also swam legs on two winning relay teams.
