North Bend’s boys bettered visiting Elmira 63-48 in a non-league basketball game Thursday night. The Lady Bulldogs dropped a 65-24 game to host Salem Academy at a tournament Thursday. North Bend hosts Stayton in a non-conference boys’ basketball game Saturday at 5 p.m.

Marshfield’s basketball teams open 4A Far West League play at Douglas in Winston tonight. The Lady Pirates varsity will play at 6 p.m., followed by the boys’ varsity game. Marshfield’s teams will host Pleasant Hill on Saturday in Coos Bay. Girls’ varsity at 6 p.m., boys to follow.
