Report from Police Chief Cal Mitts – In July, the Police Department responded to 1,695 calls for service. Among these calls for service were 79 reports of criminal trespass, six burglaries, 39 disorderly conduct reports, 35 reported disturbances, six stolen vehicles, ten unlawful entries into a motor vehicle, and 29 reports of illegal camping. Officers also conducted 88 traffic stops. • Community Resource Officer Nick White and Community Service Officer Michael Minor have been working hard to contact our homeless population by providing critical links to services, handing out information regarding where and when camping is permitted in North Bend, and enforcing applicable city ordinances and state laws as needed. The department has received positive citizen comments regarding its interactions with people in crisis during July.
