Broken Windows
Entries on the North Bend Police log for Monday morning, April 18, involving rocks or bricks thrown through business windows near the Broadway Ave. & Newmark St. intersection. First call came in at 4:26 a.m., 2031 Newmark St., O’Reillyk’s, “RP reported someone threw a brick through the window at location.” Thirty-eight year old Aaron Howley was taken into custody on charges of Criminal Trespass and Probation Violation. He was referred for Criminal Mischief II and cited for Criminal Trespass. He was linked seven other reports. At 5:33 a.m., 2035 Newmark St., Autozone, “business alarm. Officer advised building is securing, emergency contact arrived on scene.” At 6:23 a.m., 3385 Broadway Ave., Portland Bagel Co., “RP reported someone threw rocks through windows at location. Report taken for Criminal Mischief I.” At 7:49 a.m., 3390 Broadway Ave., “Sizzler reported their window broken out sometime overnight. Officer respond / report taken.” At 8:56 a.m, 1932 Newmark St., “Papa Murphy’s reported someone threw a rock through their window sometime overnight. Officer respond / report taken.” At 9:07 a.m., 1934 Newmark St., “officer advised of another broken window at location after investigating several others. Report taken / Bayview Accounting will notify the owner and provide values for damage.” At 9:14 a.m., 1930 Newmark St., “officer request case number for Criminal Mischief to window at location. Officer took info for report / owner notified.” At 9:25 a.m., 2080 Public Square Ct., “Officer request case number for Criminal Mischief, broken windows at location. Owner contacted and will follow up with officer.”

Criminal Mischief
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, April 18, 10:58 a.m., 2400 block Broadway Ave., “Ozone Vapors reported someone blocked their door with a mattress weighted down with bricks. Officer respond and attempted to assist in breaking the chain, unable to do so, she will try and break it with other tools and dispose of the mattress.”

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, April 18, 1:04 p.m., 3800 block Vista Dr., “patrol request. Many transients in the neighborhood. Items being taken and property being damaged. Request extra patrols in neighborhoods. Logged for patrols.”

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, April 18, 1:33 p.m., “officer served CCSO 2 valid warrants,” on 31-year old Shanda Lynn Sline, Eugene, charging Failure to Appear on Criminal Citation and False Info to Law Enforcement Officer for Liability Insurance. “Subject released in lieu of custody.”
