Mtn. Lion
For the second straight day, reports of a mountain lion sighting was on the North Bend Police logs for Tuesday, Sept. 8, 9:27 a.m., Chinook/Roosevelt, “Mountain lion sighting, occurred 9-7-15 @ approximately noon.” Officers responded to the area for an Attempt to Locate, but were unable to locate any tracks. “ODF&W and CBPD notified / info posted to local board for patrol.” Second entry at 6:02 p.m., Chinook/Connecticut, “resident reported seeing a younger cougar walking on Connecticut then into trees.” A report was also made Monday, Sept. 7, 7:17 p.m., Colorado Loop area.

Drinking in North Bend
Various NBPD log entries regarding individuals drinking in public on Tuesday, Sept. 8. 2:14 p.m., 2000 block McPherson, “RP reported 2 male subjects sharing a bottle of alcohol on steps of location. Officers respond and contacted the subjects, warned city ordinance violating and to move on.” 2:43 p.m., 3200 block Ash St., “RP reported an intoxicated male standing on the sidewalk outside her home acting suspicious.” 4:48 p.m., 1800 block Sherman Ave., “NB Library reported multiple subjects outside drinking a beer. Officer respond and contacted the subject.” Fifty-one year old Joseph Allen Boyd, North Bend, cited for Drinking on Unlicensed Premise and Criminal Trespass II. “Subject released in lieu of custody.” 6:40 p.m., 1735 Virginia Ave., “Safeway reported a shoplifter that dropped a case of beer and fled WB from the store on foot. Officers respond and attempt to locate surrounding area / unable to locate. Report taken Theft III.”
