According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, Sept. 7, 3:30 p.m., California St. Boat Ramp, “USCG had initially asked for NBFD to respond to capsized boat, occupants already safe on shore. USCG then cancelled the request.”
Sex Abuse & Harassment
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, Sept. 7, 5:57 p.m., 1300 block Virginia Ave., “Chevron request officer for female customer who is very upset after confrontation with male outside. Officers respond and located the male near Virginia Ave. & Monroe St.,” 39-year old Joshua Jason Szumski, Coos Bay, charged with Sexual Abuse III and Harassment. Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, Sept. 7, 7:17 p.m., Colorado Loop, “RP reported that neighbors told him that they saw Mountain Lion in the area earlier today.”
Interfering
According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Monday, Sept. 7, 11:49 p.m., 2600 block Broadway Ave., “officer assisting Fire with Fire Alarm at location,” 50-year old Kelly Marrs, North Bend, taken into custody on charges of Harassment, Interfere with Police and Interfere with fire fighter. Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille. On Tuesday, Sept. 8, 4:12 a.m., same location, People’s Place, “Officers assisting Fire with fire alarm at location. Subject left location prior to officer arrival. Officer stopped her in vehicle later,” Marrs cited for No Operator’s License and Driving Uninsured.
