A medical issue is believed to have led to the drowning of a 73-year old West Linn male on the North Oregon Coast Wednesday, July 15. The unidentified individual was crabbing with his nephew about 11 a.m. near the mouth of the Nestucca River when he suddenly jerked the rudder of their 12-foot inflatable board and it capsized. The nephew was able to swim to a sand bar. Both were wearing life jackets. A USCG helicopter training in the area responded to the 9-1-1 call.
