Strange situation for emergency personnel on the North Oregon Coast Tuesday morning, Jan. 17. A male seen walking along the shoreline at Netarts Bay in Tillamook County was reportedly carrying a small inflatable raft and two oars. Witnesses then reported seeing the male near the mouth of the bay, just out from Happy Camp, being swept out to the ocean with the outgoing tide just before 9 a.m. The raft flipped tossing the male in the water. Rescue personnel were immediately dispatched including a USCG helicopter. The raft was recovered, but the individual could not be located. An investigation is continuing.
