News release from the Oregon Department of Transportation Sunday, Aug. 16, 9:10 p.m. ODOT: SW Oregon: North entrance to Crater Lake National Park at Oregon 138 (North Umpqua Highway) mile post 86: Fire officials plan to close the north entrance to all traffic tonight (Sunday) at 10 p.m. due to planned fire suppression activities in the days ahead. There is no estimated time to reopen the north entrance. Oregon 138 remains open. Park visitors will need to use the south entrance to the park via Oregon 62.
