The northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp at Exit 120 (South Roseburg) will be closed for 10 days starting Wednesday night, May 3. Northbound I-5 motorists are advised to use alternate routes to reach south Roseburg, such as detouring through Exit 119 (Winston/Coos Bay), onto Oregon 42 and turning north on Old Highway 99. The closure will allow prime contractor Knife River Materials to rebuild the off-ramp to accommodate an additional northbound travel lane on I-5. Once constructed, the two-mile auxiliary lane will extend from Speedway Road to the north bank of the South Umpqua River. Meanwhile, the southbound ramps at Exit 120 were closed early Monday morning. Knife River has accelerated its paving schedule in an effort to open the two southbound ramps before the northbound ramp is closed.
