The Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board is continuing work on a water main replacement project on Ocean Boulevard between the Water Board’s driveway entrance and Woodland Drive. The work is being performed by the Water Board’s contractor, Laskey-Clifton Corporation. The remaining work consists of asphalt paving only and should be complete by the end of this week. The contractor will work each day during the day, and at night on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights as needed. Night time work will begin at 7:00 p.m. and continue until 7:00 a.m. the following morning. The work will also include a closure of Woodland Drive at Ocean Boulevard with a detour to/from N. 19th Street and Juniper Ave/Myrtle Ave. Continuous traffic flow will be maintained; however, motorists are asked to reduce speeds and use caution through the construction area. Alternatively, motorists are encouraged to use other routes when practical. The project has been a success. A critical part of the water distribution system has been improved. The Water Board sincerely appreciates the patience of the public throughout the project duration. Any questions can be directed to the Water Board at 541-267-3128.
