SALEM, Ore.—ODFW’s Salmon and Trout Enhancement Program (STEP) Advisory Committee will meet online on Friday, Oct. 22 via Microsoft Teams. The agenda and meeting link are available at http://www.dfw.state.or.us/fish/STEP The meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the agenda includes review of nine mini-grant applications, establishing a sub-committee to begin work on STEP rulemaking, board elections, setting meeting dates for 2022, and other program discussions. Members of the public will be provided an opportunity to comment during the meeting; comments should be related to agenda items or the implementation of STEP. The Oregon Legislature created the Salmon and Trout Enhancement Program in 1981 to provide a way for volunteers to participate in the restoration of native stocks of salmon, steelhead and trout. The STEP Advisory Committee makes recommendations to ODFW and the Fish and Wildlife Commission on issues regarding its programs. The committee’s nine members are appointed by the Governor and represent all areas of Oregon.
